Pre-Clinical Safety has been created to support decision making that occurs at the discovery and development stages of New Chemical Entities (NCE). We believe that the industry needs to balance the safety risks of compounds with the business risk of loosing valuable prospective pharmaceuticals to unreliable data. We believe that many compounds are eliminated from development due to signals that may not apply to human risk, that every compound may produce an adverse effect (including many that are considered “safe” by the public) and that there are ways of mitigating risks so that the risk-benefit ratio of the new pharmaceutical can be overwhelmingly positive.

By obtaining and appropriately interpreting early data one can increase the probability of success, and eliminate candidate compounds that may fail later. How this information is developed and interpreted is key to the quality of decision. We believe that by bringing together our own experience in the field with the extensive network of our colleagues, Pre-Clinical Safety can deliver the best support for these decisions.
